I Traveled to Boracay

Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Day 2-3

Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Day 2-3

My second day in Boracay was just as exciting as my first. I woke up at around 6.30am, I think and we showered quickly before going out for breakfast. Our breakfast was complimentary with our accommodation, which is a feature I totally support, because there’s just something about waking up to a beautiful place and availing a delicious breakfast almost immediately. The day was bright, not as sunny as I hoped it would be, but at least it wasn’t raining. We availed our Filipino breakfast from Mama’s Fish House (the restaurant in Microtel Inn and Suites) – pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and watermelon – a very tasty and satisfying combination. Did I mention their maple syrup was delicious? Well, it is. Nothing like pancakes and maple syrup to prep you up for a good day. The other bloggers and I didn’t really get to see much of each other in the morning because we all kind of split up to do our own stuff, but Gervic, Gracee, Van and I kind of had our plans set already. Cheesy as it may sound, we highly appreciated some beach time for us so right after breakfast, we headed down to the Diniwid Beach and had a little chance to swim, frolic and take pictures in and out of the waters. Boracay Bloggers’ Tour Day 1 Part 2

Arriving in Caticlan, I fairly disappointed myself by realizing I don’t really know much about Boracay. I thought Caticlan airport and port were just in one place and I thought we’d board the boats right after getting off the plane. Too excited, I know. Once we landed in Caticlan, the smell of fresh air was immediately so different from Manila. How? I smell the sea! And if there’s someone currently a beach bum, I politely raise my hand to volunteer. After arriving in Caticlan, smooth landing via SEAIR, we headed onto SEAIR’s Caticlan lounge, where we were treated to late lunch. Must I say more? Delicious. Served to us were traditional Filipino foods like adobo and sinigang (2 of my most favorite dishes) and kilawin as well as a large (and I mean large!) grilled fish that was just waiting to be eaten. Man, I couldn’t wait to experience Boracay’s nightlife! We indulged quick, I loved the adobo and the fish tasted delicious with the spicy sauce and coke in hand. All I can say is adobo + grilled fish + spicy sauce + coke makes one very happy Brenna. After our lunch, we were lead to Denby’s Butterfly Garden which was right next to the lounge. Truthfully? I’m not a fan of butterflies and I’m pretty sure they’re not

Boracay Bloggers’ Tour, Day 1 Part 1

Boracay Bloggers’ Tour, Day 1 Part 1

Ah. I once said that if I get to go to Palawan and Boracay in one year, I’ll be the happiest person in the world. Guess what? That just happened! After my Palawan adventure in February (which by the way, I haven’t finished blogging yet, pictures are sorely lacking due to my non-existent waterproof camera that time), I was able to experience a new adventure and feel the beginning of a possible career venture in the future. Thanks to South East Asian Airlines and Microtel Inns and Suites Boracay, I was able to join their prestigious bloggers’ tour on September 11, 2010. September 11 is one of the most memorable dates in my entire life (not a joke, seriously), and it’s not just because it’s THE September 11 everyone remembers, but it’s the September 11 when I was able to conquer another travel dream of mine. At 9am in the morning, I was just about finishing my packing for my 1325H flight to Caticlan. I felt so excited that morning and yet, nervous, just like I was on my first solo travel in Palawan. I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know who I was going to be with (I didn’t even think of adding any of my blog-mates!) and I was definitely nervous of what I was about

Why Boracay?

Why Boracay?

Why NOT Boracay? Well, why not right? I mean who can say no to a free trip to Boracay? I can’t, thus, this blog entry that may turn out to be one of the most embarrassing blogs I ever wrote – excluding my past dramatic antics of course! So why me? Why not? No, I’m just kidding. My desire to go to Boracay is beyond the fact that I haven’t been able to save up enough money or find time to go. I know, I know. What a loser right? I fully accept that. I guess it’s simply because I’ve been dying to go there. I mean, seriously since a few years ago when I found my undying love for traveling, adventure and beautiful scenery. Boracay is a dream for me. Ever since I went to Palawan this February, I think Boracay could be another exhilarating experience for me since it is known to be a tourist spot with many outdoorsy activities and (because I have this irresistible urge for beautiful beaches) I can’t help be drawn to one of the best beaches in Philippines. I’m an adventurer. I love experiencing new activities, I love trying adventurous – even dangerous – outdoor activities. If it meant experiencing new surroundings, seeing Philippines in a different light, I’d camp outside Microtel Inn
