The beauty of being in the city is that every time you’re bored, you can just go to the mall and problem solved. There’s so much to do in the mall, that your feet will probably be so sore before you get home – I know, I’ve done that. I’ve tried walking SM Megamall and my feet ached so much after. What more if you’re walking through one of the biggest malls in Asia? Mall of Asia is located in Pasay City. It’s divided into 4 buildings – or four semi-connected buildings that are huge, air-conditioned and at the same time, had large open air areas where people could just hang out and breathe air. An intake of the mall can sometimes be too much for anyone and the best thing about Mall of Asia, is that it provides not only some old fashioned shopping and games and food, but a taste of a little bit of the ocean air. Mall of Asia is located along the Manila Bay, outlining a portion of it and the area at the back of MOA is also known for many students and some families and friends (especially at night), the “Hangout”. One of the most famous tourist spots in Manila, Ocean Park is known from its foreign version – the Ocean Park in Hong Kong, a widely visited museum sporting the life underwater. Everyone knows what’s in the Ocean Park, the famous underwater walkway where you’ll be able to see the fish for real and this time – you’ll be the one in the fish bowl. In the same manner, that’s what the Manila Ocean Park portrays. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you, but Manila Ocean Park isn’t as developed as the one in Hong Kong. The walkway is just about a few meters long and there’s really nothing much to see. The Manila Ocean Park is owned by China Oceanis Inc., a Singaporean firm with four other oceanariums in China. Situated behind the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park, the oceanarium is spaced out over 8000m or 86,000 sq ft. There are four general sections in the Ocean Park. The first section is the Concourse Plaza which you’ll be able to find at the entrance of the Ocean Park. The plaza sports numerous food stands and is a location for special performances or concerts. The next section is divided into 7 sectors starting the tour with “Agos” which shows 8 tanks for freshwater fishes in a rainforest background.
