On October 19, 2012 Manila was invaded! No, not that kind of invasion of course. But by Travel Massive, a global initiative that aims to connect people from the travel industry in one event. With Travel Massive, thousands of travel professionals around the world are connected in a single gathering – in a local area where people of the same interest have the same goal – to connect and network. Formerly known as the Travel Tribe, Travel Massive began in 2009 in Sydney, Australia. Put together by Ian Cumming and Alicia Smith, who both wanted to connect to other people in the travel industry, Travel Massive was a simple, casual meeting in a rooftop bar. Soon, the small meet up had garnered so much attention that it grew into a massive event, attracting international guests and even travel CEOs. Like a disease (a healthy one, of course), Travel Massive spread to Toronto and other cities in the world. On October 19, it finally spread to Manila.
Now who’s the excited one, huh? For the first time ever, the bustling city of Manila is playing host to Travel Massive, a global networking organization, which aims to link and connect travel professionals all over the globe.

About 20 years ago, Mt. Pinatubo erupted, and my mother saw me turning blue. I couldn’t breathe. Thus, my fight with asthma for over many years began. It started out slow. I had a real hard time fighting asthma and I spent most of my younger years in the hospital and having a hard time breathing. Today, still fighting asthma, I refuse to be a victim of the sickness anymore. I haven’t been sick in a year despite the fact that I’ve continued travel and even mountain climbed. I’ve been trying to eat healthier and I’ve learned how to take care of myself, I make sure I bring all the essentials in case I get asthmatic and I make sure that I make it a mind over matter situation. Ever since taking up Mt. Taal, my next dream volcano destination had been Mt. Pinatubo. This climb will set to be my one way of conquering myself in the sickness that drained me out of many sports or heavy activities in my childhood and will still probably prevent me from doing many things I love if I keep being sick. Can I conquer asthma? Yes! Can I conquer the volcano that became the cause of my asthma? Let’s hope! Join Mt. Pinatubo’s Climb for a Cause this coming May 28, Saturday
Kenny Rogers Bloggers Night featuring Phil Younghusband and Mica Tantuico Even before I got the chance to be invited to Kenny Rogers’ Bloggers Night, I’ve already been a fan of the restaurant. On April 19, 2011 Kenny Rogers held a bloggers night in Katipunan to officially introduce their new dishes and their new endorsers that were the stars of their new commercial. Kenny Rogers in Katipunan is a wide restaurant with a double door entrance wherein one leads to a small room on the right and the other to the main restaurant. The small room is probably where they hold small parties or events. This night, this was where we were going to have our Blogger’s Event. After registering, I was lead to the small room wherein I met the host as well as Ms. Tina Papera, the LSM and Brand Manager. As I entered, I didn’t even realize Phil Younghusband was already in the room (which is a good thing, I may have fainted). The night began with a short introduction from our hosts. We also participated in a short game where we all had to look under our tables for a letter and then had to form the word Hainanese. Any group to form the word the fastest received a pretty tumbler from Kenny’s. I was part of
On April 17th, 2011 Club Manila East in Taytay Rizal held their 2nd Surfing Competition at their Ocean Wave pool. Being the loser that I am for not having been to the resort even if I only live in Cainta, I had been curious about the resort for many years now (since I was in High School) and when I first heard that they were going to have a surfing competition, I just had to go see what Club Manila East had to offer. The answer to that was a lot – and I mean it, a lot. The surfing competition was scheduled at 1pm and bloggers had their own cabanas right in front of the Ocean Waves pool. The Ocean Waves pool, launched in 2009 has an area of more than the total area of 10 basketballs. If you’ve been to a basketball court, times that by 10 and you know what I mean. The pool was huge. This pool is also the first in the country wherein you can actually surf. How, you may ask? This is because the powerful waves in this pool rises up to a whopping 1.5 meters high which is yes, very much enough to surf in. The Surfing Competition is divided into three classifications: the kids division, women’s division and the men’s division.
