If you’ve been my friend for a while now, you’d know how much I love food. Based on my tweets and Facebook alone, I eat every 3 – 5 hours a day. Sometimes, I even wake up in the middle of the night just to eat.

So when we were introduced to Zaffron, Oasia Hotel, I was in food heaven. Literally.

Inside the tall, gorgeous, multi-luxurious hotel was a restaurant that caters to its guests for possibly a food orgasm – at least, every day if you’re lucky enough to stay at Oasia Hotel all the time.

The buffet we had was exquisite and filled with various dishes. I’m not familiar with most of them, but I do know that there were pastas, various meat dishes and a whole lot of desserts for us to choose from.

I’m not picky when it comes to food. But let’s just say I always look at how the food is presented to guests before I take a bite out of it. So for me, presentation means a lot.

Which is a good thing, because Zaffron’s buffet didn’t disappoint. Each dish, each dessert was lined in proper place. Main dishes were in hot pots so we didn’t have to worry about heating up our food.

The pasta was a little cold for my taste, but delicious, not the less, and noticeably healthy, if I may say.

And then there was the desserts.

I think the best part of the buffet was definitely the desserts, hands down.

Besides the fact that I totally love eating various sweets, I was excited to eat some local food. Some of the bloggers from Singapore would introduce me to different desserts and tell me which ones were delicious. They were right. Delicious!

Here are some of my favorites:

Van Houtan Chocolate Cake

Ugh, I totally love cake. When I tasted this, it was to die for! There’s a little bit of mouse at the top and I didn’t mind the icing and cream at all!  Two thumbs up for this!

 

Panna Cotta

This is the Panna Cotta. At first taste, it seemed a little bland. But if you bite into the blueberry at the same time that you eat into the Panna Cotta, you’ll enjoy a juicy taste of blueberry and the soft, silky feel of Panna Cotta in your tongue. Yum!

Fruit Salad

I simply love buffets. Zaffron’s buffet deserves a lot of bonus points for delicious dishes and presentation. I do think they can create a more comprehensive buffet though, with more variety and possibly even different cuisines. Buffet rate? 7/10.

Must try? Definitely!
