In order to help plan your family vacation, here’s how I did mine.

Because I am such a bad booker (is there such a word?), you might be wondering why our airfare from Cebu Pacific is a little irregular. That’s because I booked one way in 2010 (for travel in 2011) for P999 (all 6 of us) and then I booked a way back for me (P946 I think) and then booked the rest of my family in a separate plane. Don’t ask why. LOL.

This is a list of expenses we had during our Cebu – Bohol Trip.

Note that because of my amazing booking skills – I booked a flight to Cebu in the afternoon – which is a total waste. Always book flights in the morning so you have all day to do stuff in the city. I also booked a way back to Manila in the morning, which is another waste as well, because they (my family) could’ve spent another whole day in Cebu. If you want to make the most of your time in a new place, book the earliest flight in and the last flight out so you don’t waste money on accommodation.

Since there were 6 of us, we had to take two taxis – except for the one we took to the port. It was too early for anyone to notice so the driver let us all squeeze into his taxi for P100.

Book your ferry tickets early so you can get a roundtrip discount. Thanks to Doi of the Travelling Feet, I got an almost 50% discount on our ferry tickets.

I also texted numerous tour guides in Bohol and Cebu just to canvass the cheapest rates for their tours. The ones I went with were the cheapest and most practical tour for us.

Here is a list of contacts I have on our Bohol/Cebu trip.

I didn’t include minor expenses here – like the P42 my sister and brother and I spent on RT transportation while we went to Larsian’s and the expenses I had in Moalboal. There is a separate post for my budget in Moalboal.

I have to give myself props for this though because spending only P5400 on a 4D3N trip including airfare is already kind of cheap. Many tours will offer the same amount for the same days except that they won’t include your airfare.

We spent a total of P33, 080.36 on our 4D3N family vacation for 6 people to Cebu-Bohol.
